Frequently Asked Questions
Is the surfing equipment included in the price or do I have to rent it separately?
All the equipment is included in the surf lesson or course. In addition to a surf or paddle board we will provide you with a wetsuit of the right size.
Am I too old to start surfing?
There is no age limit to surfing. You can sign up for any of our courses. Since we started we have taught surfing to people of very different ages, from children to pupils over 60 years old. The waves will always be waiting for you.
I’ve never been surfing. Is that a problem?
Our introductory courses are aimed at both people who are learning to surf from scratch and those who have already tried it.
Can I wear my glasses or contact lenses when I'm surfing?
If you feel that you will struggle to see without your glasses then yes please do wear them. We suggest securing them to yourself with a piece of string so as not to lose them. Daily throw away contact lenses are the best option for surfing.
What if It's raining?
Here in Waikiki on the south shore of Oahu our weather changes by the minute. If the ocean conditions allow us to deliver your lesson safely, it will go ahead. Taking part in a surf lesson can be a great addition to a rainy day — you’re going to get wet anyway!
Are you insured?
We hold public liability insurance provided by Sportunderwriters.com Inc. Please let us know if you need a copy of our certificate.
Do I need to book in advance?
All of our surf lessons have limited availability so booking in advance is essential.
What happens if the surf's not up?
We use weather charts and our local surf knowledge to estimate what conditions will be like on the day of your lesson. If we feel that there really is not enough surf on that particular day for a quality lesson, we will endeavour to offer another or suggest a different date that is convenient for you.
